This busy, fast-paced office environment is the hub of activity for Wheelock students, families and the community at-large.Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for organizing and managing all aspects of the Student Life Office which includes the following:-Provide administrative support for the Student Life department, including responding to phone, email, and in-person inquiries from parents, students, and other faculty and staff members -Craft announcements for the Wheelock community at-large. -Provide direct assistance to the Dean of Students and the Director of Residence Life in facilitating meetings, phone calls and scheduling. -Responsible for the orientation, supervision, evaluation and training for the front office work study students. This includes coordinating the master schedule of office coverage. -Work closely with the Dean of Students, Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Residence Life, Director of the Counseling Center and the Director of Student Leadership and Diversity Programs, and assist them with the operations of their offices, as needed. -As directed, assist with the organizing and coordination of special programs for the Wheelock community, including but not limited to: Orientation, Commencement, First Year Introduction, Leadership Selection and end of year Leadership Banquets. -Coordinate student services, such as the MBTA T-pass program and First Aid Courses. -Process and maintain accurate health form information for all students -May need to work some evenings and weekends. -Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:-Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required. -Highly capable of working with office computer systems and software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and calendar systems. -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. -Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and ability to work effectively in a high-traffic, busy office with frequent interruptions. -Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive materials and information. -Good judgment and a sense of humor. -Demonstrated interested in higher education and student affairs.Additional Information:Commitment to DiversityWheelock is a diverse community devoted to promoting and acceptance of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, or physical ability.
